RX Renewal

A fast and hassle-free way to renew your prescription online

We’ve all been there. You reach into the box for your next set of fresh contact lenses and realize that you’re running low. However, your prescription has expired and you have a busy week ahead. You have no time to visit the eye doctor to get a renewal — which is necessary to order more lenses. It’s an added inconvenience, and in some cases cost, you don't need.

Did you know that you can get your prescription renewed, quickly and easily, with a simple and short online vision test?

We’re excited to announce our new telehealth option: VisionPros Rx Renewal powered by Luna. You can renew your prescription in a brief online session — no in-person doctor visit required. And you’ll receive an updated script within hours from a board certified ophthalmologist licensed in your state. It’s a convenient and hassle-free way to stay on top of your contact lens supply.

Benefits:

  • No doctor’s visit required
You don’t need to make time for an in-person appointment. That means no time wasted commuting to the doctor’s office, finding parking, or scrolling your phone in the waiting room.
  • Short, online appointments
Your appointment is 10 minutes, start to finish, at a time that’s convenient for you.
  • Saves you money
Taking our test from the comfort of your desk whenever its convenient for you means you’ll save money by not having to take time off work to attend an in-person appointment.
  • Get your new prescription fast
Your new script, issued by a licensed eye care professional, is often ready on the same day of your test. Your results are reviewed by a doctor within 24 hours (and sometimes as quickly as 4 hours), and your script is ready just a few short hours later.

Here’s how it works:

  1. The online vision test
You’ll need just a few things for your VisionPros Rx Renewal session. The first is a mobile phone or web camera with microphone access. A few simple tests will be conducted using the camera, and the microphone will capture your voice while reading the digital eye chart. For best results, aim to attend your session in a well-lit and quiet room with 10 feet of space. Wear your contact lenses and have your current prescription and lens brand details on hand.

During the short session, you’ll complete a questionnaire that captures details about your health. There are also two tests: a visual test that checks for eye irritation and a visual acuity  (VA) test that tests how well you can see. Photos will also be taken of your eyes so the doctor can check for redness and other indicators of eye health.

You might ask: Are these legitimate vision tests? The answer is yes! But note: These tests do not replace comprehensive exams. Visit your eye doctor regularly to keep your eye health in check.

  1. Full physician review

Within 4 to 24 hours, your tests and details will be reviewed by a board-certified ophthalmologist who is licensed in your state. After evaluating your results, if all looks good, the physician will renew your prescription. If there are any issues or concerns, the doctor will recommend an in-person visit to your eye doctor.

Get peace of mind knowing that a real eye doctor is evaluating your eye health.

Note: Our platform uses a network of licensed ophthalmologists in 38 U.S. states.

  1. Receive your script

Once the doctor has reviewed your tests and determines that your prescription can be renewed, it’s just a short wait time. Your prescription, which is valid anywhere in the U.S., will be ready to use in just a few business hours. It’s really that quick.

When you’re ready to order your next set of lenses, just upload your new script. You’ll be on your way to stocking up on more contacts in no time — and without having to leave your house!
